Default Ethernet Hard Disk

Hi,
I have a segate 500 GB external HDD
its only interface is USB
I want to connect this HDD with my wireless router
so that i can share the data with my LT wirelessly
since the router's ethernet interface doesn't allow a USB conn
what the the options where i can connect this ext HDD to router
i searched for usb to ethernet converter(adaptor)
but i am not sure for its practical use
If anyone has used any method to do this please share
it will be completely different senario if i had to use a specfic ethernet HDD
which i am sure a NAS(quite costly)
thanks

Default Re: Ethernet Hard Disk

I don't think you can just buy a converter and you are through... there are other features needed to make it functional ... for eg. how would your modem know what data is present on which sectors of the HDD.. (-> How can the simple modem + a simple HDD perform functions of an OS ?? )
