Default Graphix Card Issue


Hey guys......i just installed ATi Radeon 9200 series 128mb in my krypton Intel 845G\GL\GV chipset with p4 1.8ghz n 256 ddr.

though ive installed my card n its working just fine but still my onboard video memory has not been disabled. ie. my ddr mem is still shared (1mb) n windows looks for intel grafix drivers everytime i start win 2k or 98....how do i disable my onboard grafix....i looked into cmos, theres no such option for "disable" but only for 1mb or 8mb shared....
plz help...any idea

U will have to reinstall win 98 & win 2k !!! BTW does ur card have PIXEL AND VERTEX SHADER SUPPORT ???? AND how much did u by it for ???

When ever a major HARDWARE UPGRADE Is done a RE-install MUST Follow !!!!

it cost me 3800 buks with some discount on....infact i knew we must reinstall os on upgrade....but my 98 n 2k worked just fine with reinstalling new drivers so i chose not to....anywez thanx will do it....suppose got no other option..but is this d only way out...cant i disable my onboard shared memory from bios setup....any idea...

make the deafult video adapter to AGP in your bios instead of AUTO or Onboard video. maybe that will help.

nothins working...my board has no option called set to agp or onboard....
there is 1 option says:-

initial display mode - onboard/agp or pci
n its set to pci...

my card is in use but the problem is in my drivers list i have a display adapter not installed properly n my 1mb ram is shared though i use an external card....sorted out everything i cud...

open ur case. there must be a jumper in ur mobo which can be enabled or disabled (depends on mobo).This jumper is for enabling the onboard vga.disable this and check again.also set ur" init display first " to agp insted of pci.(this wont have any effect though). In many cases, if this jumper is on enabled position, the internal vga chip continues in operation.

try this and let me know. more to follow,if this fails.

well bro...if u have a Onboard Display then 1st you have to disable it from mobo..b4 installing new graphics card....This is a Hardware Process..and guess if u take ur mobo to the vendor...he will do it for u....

on some mobo's , there will be dip switches insted of jumpers..
