Seagate/WD 500GB HDD?
Hi,
I want to buy a new 500GB hard disk. Should i get the Seagate 500GB or the WD 500GB HDD? Do Seagate Hard disks still have firmware problems?

There isn't much difference in Seagate 7200.12 and WD blue 500GB HDDs and both offer 3yr warranty.
If you can shell out money, get 1Tb WD black HDD and you get 2x times performance.

Re: Seagate/WD 500GB HDD?
^^Got the Seagate 500GB (7200.12) drive already (2.75k incl taxes)
And I'm pretty happy with the performance. Transfer speeds between partitions go upto 110MBps and between my old hard disk (7200.10, 320GB) and the new one go upto 68MBps.
