HOW TO BURN A DVD

I want to burn 3 vcd’s on a dvd .i burnt it as a data dvd and copied the folders of the movies with only the .dat files in them . if I just burn the three folders of the movies with only the .dat files on them then this dvd does not play on the dvd,vcd players . how do I burn a VCD DVD .

Required things:
A dvd writer
A Blank dvd
Nero Vision

Rename that vcd file extensions 4om dat to .mpg
Open the nerovision
Add those mpg files to its project
And Continue with the instructions in software
