Default Problem with Dr Divx and suggestions on other compressers

Hi my sytem config is 2.8 gz ,915 gav intel orignal mobo, 512mb ram 400mhz,80gb sata hdd, win xp professnioal service pack 1

I use dr divx to compress my vcd but lately I have been facing a problem with it .when I compress the vcd the sound comes before the person speaks in the movie.this happens some times and sometimes it does not happen .how can I solve this problem. Is there any good software with a simple user interface like dr divx for compressing vcd and dvd’s.
