Default Regarding .WMA Files

Hi,
I have noticed that .wma files take up lesser space, 784kb for a full 4 minute song. Now, I have tried converting some .mp3 file to .wma format but it took up 4mb of space ! Can anyone please guide me as to what software to use, where I can get it? and how to proceed. I dont mind if the music is of average quality.(I need it, to store it my Mobile).

Thank you.

Size depends on bitrate. What mobile do you own? If it's running Symbian OS try downloading the free Ogg player to your mobile and rip files to OGG using CDex on your PC. 64 kbps OGG sounds quite close to 128kbps MP3.

You should definitely read this - http://3lib.ukonline.co.uk/musicuiq.htm
