Default suggest a PC at 40k


hi all,

As i'm now entring the 2nd year of my college...i thought it was about time i got my own PC. so i need suggestions from u all. I need to assemble a PC including the monitor. for not more than 40-45k. can u ppl please give in ur best views.

there are only 3 conditions from my side...
1) a big lcd monitor....most prolly 22"
2) a decent gpu to run games on that monitor.
3)cpu which is not a underperformer.

plz give me ur opinions asap...

1) Phenom II X3 720: 7.5k
2) Jetway HA-07 Ultra: 6k
3) Corsair XMS2 2x2GB DDR2 800MHz: 3k

Total : 16.5k

4) Sony DVD burner: 1.1k
5) Logitech/Microsoft k/b+laser mouse: 2k approx
6) Corsair VX450W: 4k
7) Cooler Master Elite 332 Cabinet: 2k
8) Seagate 500GB HDD: 3k

Total: 28.6k

9) Samsung 2233SW 22" FullHD: 10.5k or Dell S1909W: 7k
10) Palit GTS 250: 9.5k or Sapphire HD4770 : 7.2k

Processor: E8200: 8.5k or Q8200 for same price.
Mobo: MSI P45 Neo-f: 5.5k-6k

But seriously speaking, E8200/Q8200 won't match the speed and power of X3 720. That's for sure. And if you want quad core, get X4 920.

so ur sure i should go for the amd setup?? i mean i had been using intel all my life.... i'm open for the amd too, but fi i'm going for the amd i want to be sure if the x4 will be better than the quad?? and is it the same price? performance wise speaking is it better?

X4 920 competes with Q9450 and Q9550. And if you do not overclock like hell, I would suggest you Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H for 5.1k else go for Jetway HA-07 Ultra (crossfire support)

And I am pretty sure about Phenom II. The only competitors to X4 940 are Intel Quad Extreme and i7.

thank you for the awesome support... i'll now make a final list with the X4......

ok 2 more questions,
1) how much is the X4 for
2) should i go for the GTS 240 or the 4770, which is a better choise and will they be able to handle games at 22"

X3 720 B.E. 2.8GHz @ 7.8k(unlock to X4)
Biostar TA790GXB A3+ @ 6k
Samsung 2233Sw 21.5" FULL HD @ 10k
Palit GTX260 SONIC @ 11.5k
Corsair VX450W @ 3.9k

X4 price starts at 10.5k I think
you might get it for lower price. Someone in the forum said that the price is 9.5k.

You can couple it with Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H if you want to do moderate overclocking and Jetway HA-07 Ultra for extreme oveclocking.

Either go for HD4770 or go for HD4870/GTX260.
with little bit of overclocking HD4770 almost reaches GTS250's performance and it still runs cooler

But if you are going to get a fullHD display, you better get GTX260.

actually its good only if overclocking. At stock, quads like Q8200 wud be better.

is the HD4770 not done for the 22" HD?? or will it suffice because the other options make my budget shoot very high
