Philips DVP 642K DVD Player

Anyone looking for a new DVD Player should seriously consider this baby. It plays any format you throw at it (DivX, XVid, MPEG4 in addition to all the regulars). It looks very sleek also. It has 5.1 sound output.
You will get a good price for it right now, as philips are about to phase out this model. I got it for Rs. 4400/-. (MRP - Rs. 5990-/)

Dude,

There is a new model available from philips which is 5500s.It seems this is a new model and has greater Xvid play capabilities.

This one has a better user interface and is available at 4500 INR.

The only thing missing is s-video out.

Even i am thinking of which one to buy..Anyone with any pointers?

BTW, Philips has phased out this player in India. Look out for a newer model.
