go for a DVD writer instead of a cd writer.Their cost is almost same.

DVDs are the future.

Buy a DVD writer.

I would say u go for DVD RW by liteon as it costs just Rs 3800/- and i personally feel that cd rw is there but fast fading and dvd rw becoming more main stream and currently it is dvd rw.

The future no doubt is blu ray but is its a loooooong way

well he has asked for a cd writer and thats why i posted only about the cd writer

always think waht the poster is trying to ask

if he asks for intel processors and u tell him that amd is more good ..then think urself wht he will decide ? price is always not the thing

he asked for cd writer so we must reply the answer of cd writer and not give othr replies of any other

he want it so we gave it

they are the future but a long way to become famous in Indian household.

DVDs are the near future & not the far future.

Hi raj
well i am using a samsung writer. i don't have any problem but the main prob is with the software accompanying the writer.
They still provide Nero 5.5 as Nero 6.0 Ultra Edition is the craze of the market. So plz go for LG or Sony.
They provide Nero 6.0 Ultra Edition with their writers.
But in the lite of reviews Liteon is the King.
Decide as u wish.
bye and take care

he is right. never ever go for a samsung cd-writer. power callibration error and tray problems are very common in samsung.

u can try LG. its tray is also good and hardy. But be warned LG only provides 2 MB Buffer memory compared to 8 mb in samsung.

Im using Sony and Im pretty much pleased with it. Ive heard that Samsung has numerous tray complaints previously, but not sure if its the same for the new drives. Also check this link out for more information about CD -Writers.
