Hi! I have found many STICKY topics on the forum which are always on the top.. How can one create them? Or is it STICKY because the topic has got a lot of replies??

Threads can be made sticky by the Trusted Members, Moderators and the Admins only. To make a thread sticky, please contact them.

Threads are usually made sticky when they are considered useful.

Friend request moderators to make your thread sticky.

Trusted members can't make a topic sticky even in the section they are moderators.

Er....Trusted Members Can Lock/Unlock/Delete a Thread But Can't Make Them 'Sticky'? Is'nt it Kinda Wierd?

And the "...Section they are Moderators" Means that TM's & Brainiacs are Mods of all Sections Xcept "Digitized",Right? Or Do Only TM's Have the Moderating Capabilities?

TM's or Trusted Members have moderating capabilities in certain sections of the forums. Those sections have Trusted Members listed below them alongwith the Admin, Moderators and Member Mods.

As for Brainiacs, as far as I know, they can't mod any section as they are not listed in the list.

TM got all powers asmods got, even to put members on a warning or ban them.

TM's are moderators in 4 sections . member mods in 9 section. It's like moderators and supermoderators.

Braniac is just a special member title. They are not moderators.

But they haven't have the Power to Make a Thread Sticky
When They Can Have Control over Members then Why Not in making Threads Sticky?

Well it's really not a big issue. If a TM thinks that a thread deserves to be a sticky, he can always request a MemberMod or Moderator to make it a Sticky.

As it is, moderating a forum comes with quite a lot of responsibilities. You have to moniter each and every thread for any rules violation, even if you are less intrested in the contents.

So in the end, not having the ability to make a topic Sticky is really not that important.

Actually I had joined the forum twice before, once when the forum was launched and then again in Sep-Oct 2004. On both the occasions my account was deleted on account of non-activity over extended periods. Joined again in Feb and have thankfully stuck fast.

No, it doesn't work that way.

To quote Raaabo,

Quote:
Brainiac
Description: Members who are known to be intelligent and offer the correct solutions to others. Members with this rank are productive contributors to this technology forum.

Trusted Member
Description: These are members who have always conducted themselves with dignity on the forums and have helped others regularly. Members with this rank can be trusted to provide the correct solutions for problems and queries regarding this forum. New moderators will only be chosen from this group of members.
So you see, it's the higher ups who assign the rank. That is done by seeing how much a member is contributing the growth of the forum .
