Default Can't write anything on hard disk while using knoppix.

I got this problem really bugging me. I tried to install a linux game on my hard disk from knoppix, but it refused to copy. Tried extracting, but of no avail. My system is PIII 850, 192 MB SDRAM, 20 GB HDD, Windows ME.

Also please tell me how to browse for my songs and PDF files from within XMMS and adobe acrobat reader under linux.

if its a live -cd then as far as i know there is no way u can write on the HDD.
On a live cd u can only write on ur secondary drives(cd,floppy) and on ur RAM(temporarily ofcourse)

so u see adding anything to a live cd is impossible.

If there is a will, there is a way!

Follow the steps

1. open console
2. type su
3. type chown knoppix /mnt/hda1 [if /mnt/hda1 is the directory where you mounted the drive]
4. right click the drive icon for hda1 in your desktop and select "Make disk writeble" (i dont remember exactly, look something similar, it has been a long time since i used knoppix]
5. Now you can enjoy writing to hdd in knoppix.
