Default DOS screen problem

Dear all,
My problem is with regard to the DOS screen in windowsXP. Whenever I run a dos game or program from dos screen (cmd) under WndowsXP, it automatically gets minimized but not closed. It can be restored to the full screen by clicking on the task bar but again it gets minimized automatically after some time. Is there any solution to resolve the issue?
I am using windowsXP service pack2 in P3 1GHZ system with 512MB RAM and 80 GB Hard disk.
Please help.
Thanking you,
aditya

Thanks for your help. But this has not helped my problem. Even after setting the properties to full screen, the DOS screen gets again minimized automatically.
By the way, I am using AGP card with samsung monitor. Has this problem anything to do with AGP card? Please kindly help.

With best regards & thanks,
