Default help with starting hosting business...


hi,
how do i start hosting websites, what are the necessary needs for the server?
how much money can i make in about a month?

Since you are beginning, I doubt you can make money.
However to host web site you need to have a hosting provider preferably with PHP support. 99.99% Paid hosting provide that.
You can alternatively look for free hosts such as Freehostia, Byethost, etc. for learning the stuff, and then dive on with the paid hosts. As stated above there are plenty of offers in the Bazaar section.

Get a paid hosting and a .com domain name. Your hosting company will setup your hosting account, and should guide you.

You can get a .com domain name for just 0.99$ from Godaddy.

what?
you can start your own hosting business with a reseller hosting account. If you have budget you can go for VPS or dedicated server.

Yeah! Start with Reseller first and as soon as you grow go for Dedicated Server/VPS

reseller host seems favorable for me now
but im still in doubt
i took a look at the reseller plans at whost.in
if i buy a plan will i be able to resell it without any loss?
do i need any programming skill?
is there a way that i can join you guys?

sorry if these questions sounds silly im new to this and i dont want to get into any trouble later

Making a website is not a big thing. Just google for "free web hosting templates"... download any good template and edit.

very few free hosts provide php support.

One is x10hosting. But takes 8hours to accept registration, but as a good one

On the contrary, there are quite a few; but you need to find them

@OP:
You can use a CMS such as Wordpress which is very easy to use. Wordpress has few themes which make it look like a company website rather than a blog. You can check those.

I'd use Godaddy.com for hosting and purchasing your url then link it to a wordpress website. super easy
