Default Transfer video from Camcorder to PC

I purchased a digital camcorder mfd by Sharp. I am given a USB cable with it for transferring the digital still photos from camcorder to my PC. Still photos can be recorded on SD card provided or on that small cassette, however only those that are recorded on the SD card can be transferred to PC and not the video recorded on the cassette. I have to give the cassette to the studio to make a VCD out of it. I would like to know if I can transfer the video on the cassette from my camcorder to PC, Ofcourse I am provided with a cable for watching the video on TV.
Can a TV-tuner card help me in this regard, I have'nt tried a TV-tuner card till now. If yes tell me the brand of the TV-tuner card I need to purchase for watching my camcorder video as well as transferring it to my PC

TV tuner yes But the quality will not be real good if u use a low end card but it also depends if u hav got a decent video editing software --- and that means a superrr powerful computer

UR best option is Avermedia card or Pinnacle card but remember they are not gonna be cheap.. nothing below 3/3.5 thousand

I'd expect Mr. Bond to have better tech gadgetry than this

Jokes aside, you should get a firewire card for your PC and a camera to PC firewire cable. BTW, does your cam have a firewire port?

Else, a composite (RCA) type connector (which most probably came with your cam) will suffice. Get a decent video capture card. Anything by Hauppauge or Pinnacle.

You will need a fast processor and faster hard disk to prevent dropped frames while capturing. As the second method transfers video in uncompressed analogous full frames, the amount of data written to your hard disk is high. You need a fast disk that can keep up.

just check whether usb streaming is supported by ur cam. if yes then u can transfer video files from camcorder to pc. There may be some options in the camcorder to be enabled. check the options menu or catalog.

if u r using tv tuner card, u can capture almost good quality video if u disable audio capturing. that is just capture video then capture sound seperately. and use some simple programs like vcd cutter to join audio & video or use vitrualdub.
