Which is Good NTFS or FAT

plase tell me which is better NTFS or FAT32

I installed windows xp yesterday and it asked me if i want to convert NTFS but i did not because i did not know what it is

now i have fat32 and how do i convert it to fat32 now

NTFS is better than FAT32 as there is lesser file fragmentation in NTFS.
Besides, the partition management of NTFS is better than FAT32.

Anyway here it is...
Ok Fat32 file system has a few limitations like
1: Maximum file size is limited to 4GB(if u are not into video editiing or some programs that require huge file sizes)
2:Absolutely no inbuilt security(can use 3rd party programs)
3: No logon security( Can use 3rd party..Steganos)
4:Tend to get fragmented easily
5:You get a Scandisk prompt every time u shutdown directly
6:Cannot get a efficient sector size.
7: Prone to Dos viruses..(HardriveKillerpro can earase ur HDD in 3 secs)

Pros of NTFS
1: Can set file folder permissions
2: Can limit other user acces to ur files
3: it doesn't get fragmented as often like fat32

Cons of NTFS
1: Not backward compatible to fat32 unless u use partition magic in dos mode
2:However its damn troublesome to recover a NTFS volume incase something bad happens

NTFS is better and more secure, but the only thing that keeps me away from it is that NTFS Drives dont work in Dos and Older Versions of Windows (9x).

Use a third party tools like Paragon NTFS mounter or Paragon Mount anything in Win98...

NTFS is better, more secure and the only option if u ever wanna set security permissions, but, forget about dual booting into any 9x based operating system if u've got your primary partition as NTFS !

I prefer NTFS, Unlike FAT32, the NTFS will allow you to Restore your System whenever required since it allows creation of image in hard drive.

Also you can convert you current FAT partition to NTFS wthout formatting the drive.
For Eg: Converting C: from FAT32 to NTFS

CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS
