Right Off the Assembly Line

Default dead hard disk?


my comp dont wrk wen i connect ma hdd...

im not exactly sure wats wrong.....

i think its a short circuit....

it comes on an den goes off before da monitor comes on

it comes on fine if i disconnect it

it wrks wid an old 4.3 gb hdd

i tried switchin molex conn......no use

it came on once.......after abt an hour of disconnectin da molex conn an reconn it

but den it went off agn

i had an mbr issue dis....so da disk has a blank partition

its a 120 gb segate baraccuda...

btw.....i called seagate.......they dont care......they say....if it in warranty we replace it

i havent heard complaints for seagate prtodcts for some time now. r they following the SAMSUNG pattern.....

try switching ports (IDE0, IDE1) and IDE cables.

Your writing is soo wierd. Been Messagina lot?

BTW you mentioned that its 120 GB Disk and is detected as 4.3 Gb is that right?
If so then may be your MoBo is older and is not detecting the disk properly. And you say Baracuda that makes it an SCSI disk (I am not aware whether it comes in normal parallel versions or not).

It may be a system incompatibilty....
Or Incorrect wiring.....
Look at the circuit again.....
And follow my advice......
Use any windows 95/98/Me startup Floppy....
try doin "fdisk c:" if matter not solved....
then do "sys c:".....
Common matter shud be solve now.....
End......
