Default New Philips DVD/DIVX player : 5500s

Hi,

Seems like the DVP 642K has been taken out of the market.

There's a new one on the block- called 5500s.

This one also uses the ESS Vibratto II chipset..

Supports DIVx..etc.. and WMA as an addition to this model..

Any one with an idea on how good is this..and whether it's better than the older DVP 642K..

Thanks,

Do you have any details on the price of this model? If it supports DivX then I'm interested.

yes it does support Divx ( it wud have to since it replaces the older 642K) ..It's also written on the player..

As a additional bonus it also supports WMA.

The price...well it's INR 4500 - atleast that's what the philips dealer here told me.
Philips website is not updated with this player.

This is one of the crop of DVD DivX compatible players that philips supplier worldwide. But this one has ESS Vibratto II so no QPEL and GMC Xvid's..

FOr more info.. Plz check here.

Philips has introduced this player only in selected markets i guess..
