strange problem

Intel Pentium IV 3.0 GHz
Intel 865GBF Motherboard
256 MB Ram
80 GB HDD

Windows 98SE and Windows XP Pro
shows follwing message within 5 minutes of starting any game
the same thing happens when he starts visualization in WinAmp


Your Processor has exceeded its recommended maximum temprature.

Your System has exceeded its recommended maximum temprature.

System Zone 2 temp goes to 51 from 44-45


but when he uses the PC for 3-4 hrs for word processing or for watching movies PC run perfectly without any problems & errors....System Zone 2 temp also remains near 45

Plz Help.

well bud its overheating problem.....plz chk if the CPU fan is working...there is proper ventilation in the cabinate....and if possible invest in bigger Heatsink/fan .....also chk that the fan is properly fitted on the proccy

Yup its a heating problem but as it works fine for 3-4 hrs while doing word pro. , his cpu fan goota be workin. As the problem comes while doing graphics pro. , se that your graphics card fan is workin or not ( if you dont use on board graphics card)....

He is Using Onboard Graphics
applied thermal paste yesterday but the problem is still there

frnz, as told, this is only and only due to heating problem.

1.check all your fans, give your cabinet air to breathe.
2.check your CPU's heat sink... is it properly fit in? also apply a GOOD QUALITY thermal paste/compound.
3. clean your cabinet with a blower to get rid of dirl(that is a total killer for electronics)

More than a big fan/heatsink, its necessary to go for a big tower type cabinet. This would ensure better air flow even with small 80mm fans. Whats the point in using big fans if air cant flow inside?

evrytime u feel lik doin sumtin processor intensive.....

A low-quality SMPS can also cause problems like these. Make sure you have a good quality SMPS, the wiring inside the cabinet is not chaotic and all fans are in proper working condition.

Also, make sure that the SMPS has at least 24A on the 12V rail.

◙Check all the fans for their working.
◙Check your CPU's heat sink
◙Apply a good quality thermal paste.
◙Clean your cabinet with a blower to get rid of dust.
◙Neatly tie up all the wires with rubber bands.
◙Remove the left side cover of your PC's cabinet.
◙Restore defaults if you overclocked your processor.
◙Use airconditioner (if have one) at the noon time.
