Unhappy Autorun Not Getting Disabled....Plz Help

Hiiii frndz, I disabled autorun/autoplay from gpedit.msc and even used programs like tweakUI, TuneUp. But still my removable drives autorun. I dont face this problems with my other drives. Specially my External HDD, Pen Drives and DVD's get autoruned.

I hav another query more. Is Autorun and Autoplay same thing??

I tried turning off autorun from registry by navigating to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CurrentControlSet -> Services -> CDROM > Autorun > Change from 1 to 0.

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> Explorer > NoDriveTypeAutoRun > Change the current value to B5.

All this method failed. Plz Help.

I use Windows XP SP3, NIS 2008 with Windows Defender.

You can try and click "Take no action action" by selecting "always do the selected action", see if that helps.

A simple workaround is to hold the Control key after you insert the disc. This will skip the autorun.

Lightbulb Re: Autorun Not Getting Disabled....Plz Help

Paste following text into Notepad and save as anyname.reg

Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf]
@="@SYS:DoesNotExist"
Now Double Click this file to merge its entries into the registry.
It is the best way to disable autorun on your system.
