the cd's who's thickness is not the same along it's periperals is not a balanced cd's .Lot's of unbalenced are in the market..they can slip away from the magnetic lock in your drive and can cause vibrations and strange spinning noise in the drive.
Also, My LG drive had once crushed an unbalenced cd into tiny bits..
So beware of them.

Where did you get these stats from? Just curious. And, when you mean "TOP" is it volume produced or general quality of product.

MOSERBAER IS THE O.E.M FOR SONY.
means they makes cd's for sony with sony labels on it....

Who told you that ?
Afaik,
MBI does not supply to Sony.
Sonly uses
"Sony Corporation" die for their cds whichis pathetic.
and for their DVDs they use Ricohjpn or their own, sony corporation.
Amongst this ricohjon is good, their own is bad.
And MBI supplies to Verbatim,Maxell,Mmore,MBI[self]....these are the ones i know of.

Dear Keith... I hav commerce bkgrd ... so i need to follow such stuff!!
Firstly I read the commerce journals too, like Buiness Today & Economic Times, etc...
I red a report on MoserBaer 8-9 months back,
...that how it grew from a small indian company to a global one.
It was a small one.. how it grew from 1-2-5crores then 10-20 cr.business to 250 cr. This company got a huge - huge Support
from State Bank Of India's Mid-CorporateGroup(Previously known as CNW) & their officials.
I am not goin into much detail of that....
Comin to your ques.
I knew that it was 5th in the world before, and posted that...
then i checked it and found that It has takenover a Taiwanese Co., and followin its growth to 3rd spot. so edited it!
Code:
when you mean "TOP" is it volume produced or general quality of product.
It is certainly regarding volume dude!! The MoserBaer is 3rd in Sales.

It supplies to most brands... they all take from different producers..

They just paste the logo....actually that is also done by the manufacturer only, He He
