file association problems

my operating system is Windows XP.
i have a strange problem with my file associations. whenever i dlick to open a pdf file applicaiton associated with pdf file that is acrobat reader open but not the file. after application opens i had to manualy open the file through opne menu, but not by double clicking the file.

and also my mp3 file dont show the winamp icon even though i set to show winamp icon in winamp. and whenever i try to opne a file with the OpenWith.. menu it shows some "service manger" 10 or more times instead of the applications associated with respective file such as acrobat for pdf etc.

and this stupid service manager is also in the startup even though i removed in the registry of thy.

can anybody help me to get my file association back.

i tried your solution of reregistring of the file associations. but it worked for all of them. the problem still persists with some more files. now acdsee files are not opening at all even though i re registred with acdsee by reinstalling the app.

and can you provide the solution for "Service Manager" which shows up itself number of times in the open with menu.
