Please Guys Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys my friend have a hcl laptop. he forgot the password which he entered at the bios so he is unable to remove it. he asks about the solution of this problem on 24*7 service phone line but they refuse to help in this matter, they said that this matter is not covered in the warranty. so please anybody help and suggest me what to do?

also i tried everything like removing the cell for more than a minute.

^^ AFAIK laptops dont have a CMOS battery, just an EPROM chip. Am I wrong?

Try calling up the person/shop from where you bought it, perhaps they could give you some suggestions or solution.

I remember reading somewhere that BIOs password can be reset by resetting some jumpers. I don't know what all that is about. But, you can google:

i dont know my friend tells me thatr he has tried this step of removing battery so i think i never open a laptop. if there are jumpers then wat to do with that?

Reset jumpers. I don't know how to do that exactly, but I did post few google's links. Be warned that of you or your friend does not know it well, better call your local technician.
