go and ask ur dealer for an exchange. ddr rams are much faster than the sd rams.even though ur comp is working fine u will notice the difference when u install ddr ram.

Yeah man, cahnge it. DDR RAMs are available in 266 and 400 MHz i.e. twice and thrice the speed of SDRAM.

if ur mobo supports ddr ram then that stick is definitely DDR ram
since sd ram wont fit in DDR ram slot
sdram at 133 mhz into Dual Data Rate = 266 Mhz ddr ram
so i see no problem here
u got what u paid for

Attention:
Yes u have to replace for a ddr ram. simply cos they r better. also u need to check on clockspeed of ddr rams. 133 mhz which u have currently r outdated ones. memories have to be big (512mb) and fast too (400 mhz) to perform the best. n u can do dat easily cos the price diff is very very less. say some 200. u can get a ddr514/400 at just 2400 rs.

Well dude looks like he cheayed u with this one, if he really said DDR ram, then it must be a different Motherboard, as old motherboards don't support DDR ram, & new DDR-Ram ones don't support SD-Ram, speak to him & ask him about it.

& theraven I see it through CPU-Z .. if it can also be incorrect abt wat kind of RAM is it!!

& thanks! a million to U all for ur valuable contributions but plzz help me more on this!

ur mobo supports ddr ram
266 and 333 mhz
ddr ram is Double Data Rate SDRAM
so yes it shows up as SDRAM and speed as half of what it should be
that is 133
so 133*2 ( for double data rate) = 266 mhz
hence u have 266 mhz DDRSDRAM

one more question : CPU-Z on my computer showed tht my RAM is SDRAM ... but when i run it on my frd's COMP ... it said DDR SDRAM .. Y can this be ?? bcz SDRAM wont fit in a DDR ..

& last sumer i paid 4100 bucks for my RAM .. is tht cost fine or is it the cost for 400 MHz (or 333 MHz) DDR ??

also, tell me will the performance be affected too much by replacing a 266 MHz .. to 400 MHz or 333 MHz .. bcz my system is working just fine! no probs at all

plzz answer these queries too! & thanks a million for ur earlier response!!

Well, if you push it too hard, SD might fit into a DDR slot

Regarding the speed of DDR, you should go for that clock frequency which matches the FSB of your processor. For eg, if you have an Athlon XP 1800+, DDR 266Mhz would be best suited for it as the XP 1800 has an FSB of 266Mhz.
