Default Quality of sound


I am using Windows XPSP2 Home Edition. I would like to record my voice with the help of Mic. So, what are the adjustments to be made or altered to get a good result? Your detailed reply,please.

first make sure that ur mic wire should attach to CPU then double click on sound icon of status bar
then volume contro box will open
then click on option->property->select recording->
select microphone then click on ok button.
to record the voice
click on start->programme->Accessories->Entertainment->Sond recorder.
Then here are u free to record sound.
