EVERYTHING IS PLAYING TOO FAST

I gotta problem,,,,evrything i play in windows media player (muisc,movies) plays very fast......like fastforwarding,,..
when i change the device properties and select a modem or gaming (emulated) audio device instead of my standard sound card....it plays at normal speed but without sound!
I tried other software and they have the same problem too....
except WINAMP but it cant play VCD
Please help me......or tell me where i can find a winamp plugin which can play VCD

Click on the view menu in windows media player and unde enhancements choose "Play Speed Settings" you have 3 options there slow normal and fast. Check those settings and and set it as you wish

well.........i dont have that option(play speed settings) anywhere....
i have windows media player 9 series

Try updating Wmp, Soundcard drivers and DirectX.

I use WMP 9 on windows xp. Try updating your WMP. Just look for one in DIGIT cd's

No....i still dont have the 'play speed setting' option.
The following plugin "http://www.winamp.com/plugins/details.php?id=131443" only works with Winamp2x nd not winamp 5

but this guys i dont think wmp settings isnt the caprit.... from my experince that i have with this kind of problem... this happen dew to curropt installetion... or dew to old DirectX version.....

mate what version of directX do u have??

& yes try to update it to wmp10.......

If ur problem isn't solved, go to [Start]>[Run]>dxdiag to run Direct-X diagnostics which will tell u if there r any corrupt or missing DirectSound files.

i m sure its the play speed settings problem...dude call a techie in ur home...he'll do it for u in 2 mins...

might be some codec problems
get some good codec packs
i faced it one time but only for WMP
and after installing codecs problem solved
check it out also
like get nimo codec pack

Damn it.....i uninstalled the WM9 to WM6(i got 98) and then downloaded and reinstalled WM9 back again.........i installed Nimo Codec Lite also......still the problem prevails.....
I reinstalled my sound drivers too and there are no problems in directx sound.
i cannot yet find the 'play speed settings' option.....coz its not there.
I got Win98...My winamp 5 plays normal and fine but WM9 just wont stop fastforwarding

I had that problem once with my nvidia card while using win 98.There is autofix patch for nvidia on my motherboard cd then it worked ok.

ok then... u have win98.... so u jast have to reinstall the windows.... reinstalling wont going to cost u loss of data in win98.... so just go 4 a reinstall without formating the os drive....
