Default PC for 40 or Buy another day?

Im going for a new PC especially for gaming.Ive mada a price list with the help of my local dealer. Bot the price just crossed 40k.I cant afford a rupee above 40.
Here is my list:
AMD 64 3000+(939 socket): 7250
MSI RS 480: 5200
2*256MBTranscentDDR400: 3200
17"ViewSonicFlat: 7200
160GBSATAseagate: 4600
TechCom cabinetwith400W 1200
KeyB+Mouse TechCom 650
XFX 6600 GT 128MB: 11500
---------------------------------------------------------
40800

I dont have bucks left for optical drive nd UPS.Is there any alternate(also cheao) options from this list which is not so needed for gaming.Going for a 120 or 80 GB would save only 500 to 1000.I think 160 has low cost/MB.
Is MSI RX 480(no onboard VGA) cheaper than RS480?
Is there any good 939 mobo with PCIEx16 for decent price?
Any sugestion would be gr8.

Your proposed config is quite good. But since your budget is strictly limited, you have to accept some downgrading.

Suggestion : A non-flat monitor will save about 1.5k
120GB PATA will save about 1k (diff in performance is not much at this stage)

Good choice of CPU + Motherboard , hope you are not a OC freak

RAM, Good choice

Monitor, Dont even think of 17" non flat monitors, flat 17" is a bare minimum for gaming

u can do with a 80Gb or 120 Gb SATA Hdd and save some money here and buy a higher capacity hdd later

Cabinet,PSU what you have choosen- not advisable, get a True400W PSU which wod set u back from 1.5-1.8k with any cabinet u like

Keyboard,Mouse umm nevermind..

Gfx card get the LEadtek pci-e 6600GT- around 10k and better than XFX anyday

What would u do without a optical drive? a Combo drive is a must or atleast a DVD-ROM

No way. Unless you ditch the 6600GT. Then it wouldn't be a gaming pc, would it?

You're already Rs 800 above. Will need another Rs 4000 for UPS and DVD.

Time for a reality check. Start saving till you have enough. Any cost cutting done today shouldn't be a source of regret later.

OR

If you need a PC desperately, get one with onboard graphics and same config. Buy the 6600GT later.

your mobo and grafix card dont make a good combination .... u shud go for an ati card... and ya when u r already taking msi rs 480 m2 right now then y r u buying a separate grafix card and that too an nvidia one ?

i suggest u wait for sometime and then buy a nforce 4 ultra chipset board with the same processor and card ... dont rush up things. prices are sure to go down in some time as dual core approaches. better wait instead of feeling sorry later. and a ups is a must have ... i am too scared to run my sys for a minute without a ups yaar. and dont compromise on sata ... dont go for pata ... jst wait sata prices will also go down as sata 2 approaches.

Hey I already have a CD burner,a DVD ROM nd a UPC which Im using on my older machine. So Im not wasting money on them.
Is a Zebronics 400W PSU a good choice than TechCom??.
A 6600256 non GT costs only 8000/- here.
Is there a good difference b/w 6600 GT & non GT?
Can a non GT could perform at least 80% of a non GT?

Using DOOM3 as a benchmark, a plain vanilla 6600 is 59.5% as good as a 6600GT.

Only 59.5%????
Its really too low.Is it only due to the DDR3?
Is there any difference in the GPU's except clocks??Is there any difference in pixel piprlines or other stuffs b/w them??(ATI 9800pro has 12 nd XT has 16).
Can i get somewhat the perfomance of a stock 6600GT by OCing a 256MB6600?
Can I play DOOM3 at 1024x768 @ max or med settaings?
Does 6200 supports SLI.If yes how bout setting 2 6200128 on SLI?Will it beat 6600GT?

PLZ ANSWER.Im so eager to hear.
