i think intel processors are better suited for editing purposes and benefit a lot with the hyper threading technology ... amd is the best for gaming but i dont think that is ur purpose. if u will wait for some time intels new dual core processor is on the horizon and u can buy the 2.80 pentium d which will be costing around 13-14,000/- .
i think nvidia quadro series are the best cards for 3d grafix work but they are very very expensive.
also make sure your system has enough RAM (atleast 1 gb).

Go in for AMD !!!
hey get ur self a K8N-E DELUXE u can connect upto 6 SATA drives in raid !!! for ur requirements u will require SPace i would recommend 2*80gb or 4*40gb in RAID 0 or 1 its will be muc faster then a single huge drive !!!!

Dude can you tell me about the Sound quality of the onboard sound of this card i.e MSI RS480M2. A comparison of sound and graphics with Intel's 915 GAV motherboard would be great - since i am planning to buy one of these.
Thanks,

amd 64 bit's are better performers than intel in video editing also in real life....Couple it with good RAM and SCSI HDD's if u r a serious VIDEO editor, then u have to go for some decent Graphic card like Quadro, if ur job involves working heavily with 3D applications.

@windchimes
1.ASUS A8N-E or MSI K8N-Neo 4 platinum Mobo-9k.
2.AMD 3000+(939)-7k
3.Samsung 17'' Magic Brite2 Monitor-8k
4.512 DDR (400mhz)RAM-Corsoir,Kingston-3.5k
5.80GB Sata Seagate-3k
6.Sony-CD-RW,DVD-ROM-2.8k
7.UPS(600VA)-2k
8.400w SMPS-3k.
9.Cabinet of ur choice-1.2k
10.Logitech keyboard and optical mouse-1k.
11.Creative 2.1 Speakers-1.4k
well now u hav 3.2k left and dis mobo dont hav any onboard graphic so u hav to go for a card,5300 PCI-E card which will cost u some where around 3.2k which is not bad and wid dis budget i guess u hav 2 compromise rite now u can use dis and later u can save and u can take 6600gt,eva speaker i hav suggested u will b a big issue.i m sure loads of dem r gonna object for both Speakers and GPU so lets c wat others hav to say but i think this is the best u can get in 45k or else u can go for AMD(754soc) wid NForce3 chipset.guyz any other card posible???if yes then plz tell us eva any other config...this is the best i can suggest.
