FAT/32 supports maximum 4GB file size.
Convert drive to EXT2 or NTFS(with journal disabled).

flash storage wears out on write cycles , not on read cycles.

fat 32 is is a non-journaling file system.
ntfs is a journaling file system.

ntfs causes more more write cycles on flash drive than fat32 to copy same amount of data.
thus it should be avoided.

Thats why I said try to disable journal on NTFS.

But I think EXT2 is the best choice for a flash drive's file system. It supports files of ANY size and is not journalising.

Sorry for sounding noobish, but how exactly do you disable journal on an NTFS drive?

There is a software called ext2fs which can read and write to ext2 partitions in windows.
