Buying Sony From the US is warrenty valid in India

hello friends i am going to buy sony vaio laptop from the US... i wan to know wether the warrenty is applicable in India also.if not then what to do if require repair..

if carried with the original bill and all papers, the Sony Lappy WILL be under valid warranty in India too..

Also, there must be a toll free SONY call center number where u can call nad ask them the same..and they will advice u the correct thing..

Hi All, Sony vaio bought from the US have no valid warrenty in India .. i confirmed this from Sony India as well as Sony US... both decline to honour US warrenty in India.. whether u are having all papers or not.

In India price of this model is .... 69900..in US i am getting for 40255..only

so, u still planning to bring tat lappy from the US ? or hv u already bought it ? sacrificing on the warranty part..

But, it really sucks tat its such a huge difference in price of lappy models in various countries... come on lappy companies, we (INDIANS) are not living is a 3rd world country that there is still no respect for Lappy buyers and no competative prices even... grr..rr...

the price difference is due to the taxes imposed by Indian government, if there are no such taxes, everything iwll be cheaper implyinh everyone will spend some much money that credit rating and debt for everyone will go down the drain like in usa. look what happened to them after years of enjoying low prices than europe and india.
