What RAM should i get ? Whom to trust ?

I have an IBM 8122 model system !

it has P4, 3.06 Ghz & 915G chipset !

I contacted lenovo support and they said it supports 400Mhz FSB RAM only !
While on contacting local retailers, they say it supports DDR 400, DDR2 400 and DDR2 553 fsb RAM.

the DDR2 400Mhz one is only available at lenovo support. costs 4000 bucks for 1GB
while the 2GB DDR2 553 MHz is available everywhere at just 1200 bucks !

what should i do ? lenovo support says that it wont work properly with 553MHz while retailers say it supports 553.
what to do ?
what should i purchase ?

AS per Intel, ur board supports DDR2 at max speed of 553 MHZ.
I say, go for it.

B/w P4 @ 3.06Mhz....sleep of keyboard I guess???

thanx mate...i got 533 Mhz fsb
2 x 1GB RAM
it cost me 1400 bucks !
