How can one use a .ISO file.

The other day I downloaded a .iso file but unfortunately I cannot use it.

hey you will need a virtual drive. you have it with nero !

go to Start-all progs-nero-nero 6 express-nero imagedrive
Click on it
And select enable first drive.On the tab 1st drive select the [...] button browse. in drop down menu select *.iso & browse to your file & click OK!
There your CD is mounted in drive I: [about mine]
OR
Simply Burn it on a blank CD using your favourite CD burner.

TO READ THE ISO & COPY FILES:
If u have any image drive or "virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator" software (like the one included in Nero 6+), u can use it to load the iso in the image drive and use as a "virtual" cd, without burnin it.
SIMPLE COPY-PASTE them.

DAEMON Tools is a free sub-500kb virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator. It is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today. Try it & u won't regret it Wink

Also emulators r included in the Nero & Alcohol & other similar burnin softwares.

ADDITIONAL INFO :
Use Cdmage also repairs & extracts content from iso files. 558K in size, freeware

I would suggest u 2 get both Cdmage & DAEMON Tools = Total 1mb only

BEST OF ALL..... ALL THIS IS FREE

TO EXTRACT THE CONTENTS OF CD:
use the above methods or use IsoBuster or WinRAR

ok
open winrar
click on file
click on open archives
select the .iso file coz winrar ony supports .iso format
open it
click on any file or select all the files using ctrl+a
now right click
click on extract to the specified folder
give the folder destination
click on extract

If u hv a CD-Writer with u then u must certainly hv Nero S/W bundled with it.. to use Virtual Drive of Nero just go to Control Panel and u can c Nero Image Drive thr.. just dbl clk it and enable the no. of virtual drives u need.. then go to the .iso file u hv d/l and open it with nero image drive.. the .iso gets mounted in the virtual drive and u can open it and c wats in it..

I suggest u 2 d/l Alcohol 120% S/W which is an easy 2 use s/w for virtual drive.. a virtual drive wil b created usin Alcohol and just go to the drive and right clk it and u can c an option mount iamge and sub menu open.
clk open and browse 2 the dir whr u hv stored the .iso file and its done.. if u want 2 unmount it then right clk on the drive again and u can c unmount image.. either u can use unmount or eject..both this option wil unmount the image.

Open WinRAR and open the .iso file thru this.. WinRAR just opens it for u.. simple as such..
