How to partition and format new HDD.!

i just bought a new WD 320GB hdd. i've installed it as a slave HDD. I want to know how to format and partition it into 4 equal partitions.!

Get Gparted Live CD. That is free, opensource and will do the work.

Get it from - http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

even better.. go to administrative tools -> disk management
and click on format.. all with the easy UI of win XP!!

Oops, thought it is new HDD. Now I see he meant slave hdd.

thanks for the replies, and i need to install 4 partitions. so each should come to 74.5225GB right? since its showing the total unallocated space as 298.09 GB.!

it depends on you...
you can keep the sizes as whatever you wish...

i mean i need 4 'equal' partitions.! and one more Q, should i 'enable file and folder compression' while formatting.!?

ok.. ya.. it would make 74.5225 gb per partition partition then...
ya you can enable the file and folder compressions...
