Re: Upgrade Time...Please Suggest Components
Why don't you get only the GTX260 and if necessary, E7300(5.5k). wait for Deneb to come out. Let's say, wait for another 2 or 3 months.
If you are in a hurry,
1) Core i7 920 : 15k
2) ASUS X58 mobo : 14k
3) 2gig corsair 1333MHz DDR3 : 6k
GTX216 is a very very very good card that competes with HD4870. if you don't want to get into ATI tune, it's a good card. But I would say, wait for GTX295, which is going to be a dual processor GPU.
PS: It's really wise to wait a month or two.

Thanks..
I am planning to purchase in First or Second week of January
But I think it would be better to get 4GB DDR2 RAM instead of 2gb ddr3 , since the problem with ddr3 is high latencies and its very expensive as well..
As i have 17" LCD, My PC aint gonna support more than 1028*1024 Res.
Is GTX295 More powerful than 260GTX? I Think 1 Fast GPU would be better than 2 Slow GPUs ? Same goes for processor...
I am ready to wait till Jan 12...I want to get it soon coz my 8600GT makes a lot of noise, its so much that it produces more sound than my game audio haha.I have used my currect pc to maximum extent for over 3 years.

Re: Upgrade Time...Please Suggest Components
^^^ Did you check HD4850X2?? It is competing with GTX280 and HD4870 X2. Performance does not depend on clock speed. It depends on architecture.
A 1.6GHz Core2Duo easily beats a 3.2GHz Pentium 4 processor. Why? core2duo is 50% slower when it comes to clock speed. It's the architecture and parallelism.
Better wait till mid January.

Re: Upgrade Time...Please Suggest Components
^^ Pentium D is a dual core processor isn't it.
And HD4870X2 is the current market leader, isn't it?
and seriously, which core2 processor is your Pentium D is outperforming???
is that after overclocking?? If yes, what happens if you overclock core2 to the same extent?

Re: Upgrade Time...Please Suggest Components
how about this card: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...6&prod_no=1489
MSI Says: MSI 3-in-1 High Efficiency Fan
MSI high efficiency fan radiator comes with a heat-pipe, heat-sink and fans. The high-tuned and integrated 2-slot design implementation, not only decreases the GPU temperature rapidly, but also delivers whisper-quiet cooling and ensures quiet operation.(Optional Feature)
