Default System Cleaner

My system is connected to the internet 24 X 7 and I have a dell inspiron Vista installed on my system. I have enabled automatic windows update.

The crazy update component downloads hell a lot of data and just updates and fills up hard disk. Everyday I see atleast a GB reduction in free space. I have removed all the restore points, using the system clean up wizard. Still there the free space reduction continue unabated.!

Though "windows update" downloads hardly 100 mb as update, the free space reduces at least 0.5GB after installation. Where are these files getting saved? How do I clean up / purge those files. though I don't want to disable the windows update.

Lead me to a proper solution. I use CCleaner to keep my system fit and trim.

CCleaner doesnt exactly keep your system fit and trim. It's more like... cardio exercises. You need to move on to hard core cleanup stuff. You already started by removing restore points. Now, use the search button to find a thread about "free up hard disk space" that used to be full of tips.
