Wanna Save Yahoo Message Archive

Hey Guys

I wanna format my Drive, But Want my Precious Message Archieve to be backed up some how and wanna put it in place after I load my windows again.

So tell me how to do it

and be fast, coz formattin is gonna be done tomorrow

Hi der wizard, wel da solution to ur question is jus quite simple......... all da Y! ids message archive wil b saved under a comman folder located under da "Program files" folder........ da right path address is :

C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles\

Here inside this folder u wil c many folders named wid Y! ids sign-in name depending on da no. of ids logged in usin Y! mess......

So u jus backup this entire "Profiles" folder n sav it at anoder safe place...... den aft all da re-installations hav been done...... install Y! mess n den restore da folder accordingly........

N der u r ....... u hav got ur Precious "Message Archive" folder BAK!!!

Wel wizard it wud b kind if u spell ur name aft all each self's identity is imp.......
I hope u understand wat am saying.

So wizard...... if u hav ny prob wid da bakup n restore procedures of Y! mess message archives...... ask me....... Main hoon na

Take backup of this folder
%ProgramFiles%\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles

After reinstall, restore backup. That should do it. Atleast it is working for me since last 4 reinstalls

For saving the archived messages, copy all the subfolders in the following sub-folder to some place and then paste them back into the new installation of yahoo messenger.
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Profiles

This should solve your problem. Best of luck and let me know when it works.
