avi files to dvd ? how ?

hey guyz i have a 927 mb avi file which is a home video ... i want to burn it on a dvd with the best possible quality but dont know how to ? plz help. i tried searching for stuff and i came across avi2dvd but then i read the software is buggy and is in its beta stage. i want both video and audio quality of my dvd to be excellent and it should not have any problems running on computers as well as dvd players. and its urgent !!! thanx .

conver your avi to dat
use nero to encode your dat to dvd !
