Default PC 133 128 Mb SDRAM

I have VIA V845SX MotherBoard with one 128 Mb 133 MHz SDRAM. I have a P4 1.7 GHz processor but it runs slow due to less and slow RAM. I have Windows XP Professional SP2 with KAV running on the machine. I want to upgrade my RAM. I heard that I cannot have a DDR because of the MotherBoard................... Is that true??

What are my alternatives. Please mention them with the expenses I'd have to make..........
Thanks in advance..............
