harddisk compatibility

hello everyone
my laptop harddisk got crashed recently, so m planning to buy a new harddisk...
My laptop is Toshiba Satellite M50, earlier it had Hitachi 60 GB, its specifications are as follows:
Size 60GB
Height 9.5mm
Form Factor 2.5
RPM 5.4k
Interface IDE

my laptop is having Intel 915 motherboard donn remember the exact model.. but its 915 for sure..
now my problem is that i wanna buy a hardisk with atleast 160 Gb or more space...
So plz clarify whether 160 GB or more is compatible with my system, n if it is compatible than upto wat capacity.
plz provide complete details as regard to rpm,interface n height etc...
i tried asking some local vendors but they r saying we will not assure u that the harddisk will run on ur system....
