New HDD and SP3 gives problems

Ever since I changed to a new HDD and reloaded XP SP3 am having problems.
3) Computer has become very slow.
2) Net is slow.
3) Games hang duringplay. (All games have been installed fresh).

I wonder whether it could be due to SP3.
Previously I had no such problems.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening.
Please do help me i.e.my grandson who plays games.

well, hv u installed the new HDD and

also, is the HDD SP3 for the first time or only the new HDD on a previously installed SP3 ??

and, is the NEW hdd a pata (parallel ata) or a sata (serial ata)

and are there any abrupt noises while the new HDD is in operation , like a loud spinning noise or a tic tic tic noise??

Bothfor the first time. No abrubt noises. It is a SATA drive

but

1.) wat was ur previous hdd and OS (operating system) combination ??? SATA and SP2??, also,
2.) are there too many processes running in the background (wich is causing to eat up CPU time) ?
3.) hv u done Disk defragmenting (i knw its a new HDD, but still)
4.) is the NEW HDD set as Master (using the jumper setting) ? inside the CPU ?

SP3 cannot be a trouble. why not uninstall SP3 and check it.
