The problem is,
#1. This is India... & evry day there r a few 1st generation net users joining d bandwagon. As Digit is so popular among these n00bs, they learn abt d forum from d mag & join in with their own probs & querries. The whole concept of Forum is unknown 2 them; They conider the "rules" as something like "EULA" and ignore it.

#2. Just search on some hot topic (e.g. google/Linux/nvidia/MS) and see the no. of results dumped on your face. The no. of posts added to the DB everyday is quite a large figure. And its still growing geometrically. U can't expect evry user 2 b good @ finding out that something was already posted. coz this is not MSFN.org, & evn there my frien, n00bs are joining everyday & doing d same kind of goofup

Short term solutions:
1. just del d post if it insignificant and pm d member 2 warn & read d rulez again.
2. Move d post under d proper thread - dunno if this version of phpBB supports that - and pm d member 2 warn & read d rulez again.
Long term planning/solutions:
1. Only IRC/IM based interaction 4 n00bs
2. After a n00b earns his/her right (after 2/3months - during which time read-only access 2 d forum is granted), he/she'll be offered an invitation 2 join d forum
