I ve been gettin this in my rediffmail account.
Its drivin me crazy.
On an average im getting almost 15 to 15 in a day.
This has been goin on from almost a month.
I always report them as spam in my inbox and they r moved to the junl mail folder.
If earlier i was gettin 20 mails in a day then the only change now is
im gettin 10 in my inbox and the other 10 in my junk mail.
I m sickkkkkkkk.
It is from some online pharmacy etc.
Sometimes its 'Cheap VALIUM n DRUGS'
Mostly its about VIAGRAAA and Erect.. disfunction.. dildos... n ...etc.
I m young and absolutely 100% healthy and dont need this crap
ie..(If some well wisher of mine thinks i need these and recommended me )

I do not surf porn.
I hav never been to anyonline pharmacy.
I do not hav the habit of enterin my mail ID at any site.
I ve never been to any online pharmacy site.


What do i do?
I m sick n tired of reporting 10 mails as spam to rediffmail everyday.
Only to find 15 more the very next day.

just switch to a new acc

the best thing to do wd b 2 switch to gmail .. its the best !!
im gonna do that 2day after usin rediff for like 4-5 yrs ...

Contrary 2 common belief, Rediff sells yor ID 2 3rd party & hav their own in-house spam engine

Ironically, their protection scheme is also 1 of d best.. just go to mail settings/options.. raise security level 2 "Exclusive" .. U r done

I get a lot of these mails myself. Even if rediff didn't sell addresses to third parties, these sick spammers have many ways of determining where to send unsolicited mails. One way is out and out hacking, another is to simply compose likely email addresses, still another method is to collect them from forums and newsgroups.

Hi,

I have some Rediff accounts which I was able to keep spam-free for almost 3.5 years. What I did was:

1> Never post your email id on public forums, and if you must, then make them difficult to harvest by making them something like "xyzid ((at]] domain (dot: nospam. com"

2> Ask you friends to not to include your id into CC list, instead use BCC, to forward mails/attachments.

These two guidelines helped me a lot. Second is a bit difficult to implement, but the first is under your control.

These tips are for your new account. To junk the spam-infested account is the only option that works.

I am not sure junking your id is the best way to go about it. Go to settings and raise the security level just like Calcatian said. It will do the trick
