Default MS DOS startup disk


I am currenly using WIN XP sp2
I want to enter into dos, i created statup disk from format options.
But computer is unable t boot from disk
it shows following error
disk I/O error
replace the disk and press any key.

please help...

replace the floppy and do the following things

1) in bios set the first boot device as floppy disk
2) go to my computer
3) right click on a: and select format
4) check mark the optino "create ms dos startup disk"
5) click format
6)restart the computer and be buzzed

Try to create a boot disc on a new floppy. also set the first boot option in bios to floppy disc drive.
