Default unix


i need unix(i think unix is free,if not pls mention it) 4 my old 486 system.
when i googled it i got a site called free bsd.com but the entire site is confusing and mostly points to ftp,but i need only http as i dont have a fast connection
so pls will any one tell me where to download unix(i dont need graphical interface)

FreeBSD is a powerful free unix distributions, btw, you don't need fast internet connections to use FTP, you can use an FTP client or even maybe your browser to access it

If you want another place to get the distro, then -
http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=15

Note that its a huge download, will take time on a slow connection.

If you want a small (very small) unix implementation that will run fast, I think minix will do the job.
