Default Help!!!!Connecting to MS SQL Server 2005

I am getting the following error when logging in using SQL Server Management Studio:
Server Type: Database Engine
ServerName: xxxx/SQLEXPRESS
Athentication: Windows Authentication
Error Message:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified) (.Net SqlClient Data Provider)
This error normally occurs when using .NET 2005 (ASP .NET2) Server Explorer and trying to open SQL 2005 Express Server with SQL Server Management Studio.
The error corrects itself by exiting VS2005.
I have tried to connect to SQL 2005 Express in MS Access using ODBC.
Needless to say that I cannot connect to SQL Server 2005 Express using SQL Server Mangagement Studio any more. It is however still wotking in VS2005 Server Explorer.

Please Help!

You have to enable remote connections in SQL server, which are disable by default.
Just follow this link to configure your SQL server

http://www.aspdotnetcodes.com/Enable...erExpress.aspx

Hope this helps.
