Encryption

I am working on an encryption which is directed encrypting ONLY text.
My problem is how to test this encryption. i.e. How can i test, how difficult this encryption is?
How an encryption is are tested, any procedure? anyone?

first of all, public or private key encryption? One-way or two-way?

In the meanwhile, try some tools like ophcrack, jack the ripper, xor-analyze (if you have used xor) to test the encryption strength

It is private encryption. Specially designed for passwords or important texts.
It gives 150 digit string after encryption of a 6 character word and increase in number of digits in not directly proportional to number of characters.

hey aniket.. even im interested in encryption... can u tell me how did u make this algorithm?? od like to have a look at it n learn frm it if i may... what language are u using??
