Default PRINTER NOT DETECTING

I have HP DESKJET 3745 ,but few daysa b4 i have changed my PC but noww it is not detcting this printer .also the problem is that connector near the USB port of printer is damaged but the same printer is also working fine on another machine.service engg asked to format the HDD , i did so but the problem is still there.

if the problem is not getting detected, there was no need to format it. ....
any way try installing forcefully, i mean use the AddPrinter wizard and install the printer, then see whether the test page is coming or no...
