Default Need a damn good pc configuration.Budget:Rs 40,000

I want to buy a new computer.
It should be able to handle Vista,Fedora Core and Ubuntu without any problems.
It should also be able to play the latest games without any problems.
I am still unsure of going with Intel or AMD.
Regards
Bharat

I think it may be better to go for AMD X2 3800+ and ASUS M2N8-VMX bundled for less than 7.5k instead of P4 bundle for 8k... The above config does not include monitor - 15" CRT is basic, but you may want to go for 17" CRT if the rest of the budget is okay... Also, I think that with 7600GT, Palit brand was available at 7.5k as per PC World March 2007 edition... Other things to consider would be Combo drive/DVD-Writer and a good casing with decent SMPS

BTW, I notice the 2.1 speaker costs rather high... You can instead go for Creative Inspire 5.1 which will work out much cheaper...

Is this XFX 7600GT + Palit 7600GT gonaa be future proof????
I mean will this be able to handle the upcoming titles?

@Pathiks - did you work out the price before offering the config? I think it would shoot to more like 45k...
XFX 8600GT 256 MB or Sparkle 8600GT 256mb - 9.5k
1*1GB DDR 2 667 mhz RAM (Kingston/Transcend) - 2.25k
ASUS P5B deluxe Motherboard - 10.2k
Intel C2D e4300 1.8ghz - 5.9k
Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse - 0.8k
Creative SBS 2.1 speakers - 1.15k
250Gb Seagate sata 2 - 4k?
Samsung 17 Inch CRT Monitor - 4.75 k
VIP cabinet + 500w smps.. - ?

And Combo/DVD-RW drive will come to 2k

What about going for a nForce Motherboard for Intel Core2 Duo?

If i exclude external graphics card and use an internal one instead, will i ahve problems in vista?
Is intel Core2 duo 64 bit?

well nforce mobo's r costly n not easily availabe .

yeas u won't be able to use the Aero interface of vista without a powerful GFX card .

last , yes Core 2 Duo is 64 bit , but u wouldn't need that coz most apps u'll use r 32 bit , so u'll only get degraded performance if you install 64 bit vista n run 32 bit apps .
