Default Configuring two HDD's


I currently have a Samsung 40 GB 5400 RPM PATA HDD. If I buy another 120 GB SATA II Hard Disk, how can I configure them together to use them both on my PC ?

Just connect them and set one HDD as Master and another one as slave...

How can a SATA be made slave?
