Red face Pls Compair these 2 system config..

Hello...

I am really confuse about buying a new system... i have 2 config in mind, i am writting them bellow... pls select one for me...

Intel One
Intel 920 Rs. unknown suggest
Intel D102GGc Rs. 4350

AMD One
AMD X2 3800 AM2 Rs. 8000
ASUS M2NPV-MX Rs. 4750

Now i need to know in these to present config which one to chose ??

my purpose is to Play Game, run DVDs, and run Vista .... i have seen ATi X200 is not the best while with Vista... also i will not go for a C2D system... so in that case i am looking for a board (Intel Pentium D LGA 775) which would run a proper nforce chipset which would run vista properlly and would it come under 4.5 ??...

pls suggest...

The X2 3800 is definitely the better processor. If you want to play games then forget about onboard graphics, you HAVE to buy a separate graphics card. As far as Vista goes a DirectX 9 card with 256 MB video memory is required to run the Aero interface. That rules out the onboard graphics on both mobos.

I suggest you buy the X2 3800 or X2 3600 if you need to save some cash, The MSI K8NGM2 mobo which is better and cheaper than the Asus and a graphics card depending on your budget.

Why would you not not go for C2D? Just add 1-2K more and buy C2D e6300. It will be lot better than Pentium D 920.

well in processor it may be 2k... but there is no nForce or ATi based board on C2D platform.... so when thinking about G965 based board, the budget will increase father more... which i cant afford...

at present i cant invest on Graphics Card... so cant think of 945/946 based Intel boards for C2D...

so best what i am looking for a Board for Intel P4 D 920... whith nForce platform... over internet there are many but hard to find all those in India...

I am from calcutta.. so pls suggest any board runnig a good nforce chipset for D 920...

well i have seen that games can be run on low setting even on x200 which comes with D101... so if i can run those in low setting without any lag it would do for me... right now cant invest any thing on Graphics Card...

thats why interested on nForce of ATi based boards...

Intel D102GGc do not support dual core processing, so ur dual core cpu
will act as single cpu.

Why are you buying a Pentium D when the X2 3800+ costs the same and performs much better?

Well I dont know how tight are you on your budget, but believe me a bit of good investment (even if for that you have to wait for sometime) on a decent config is far better than investing less to get a low profile config......... coz you anyhow gonna upgrade later the moment you start feeling bound by the limitations. Your best bet I guess would be

Intel 945 Board with C2D 6300 and a 7300 GS. 6600 is still expensive (dont know for what reasons). 7300GS is under 3K. Trust me this would be a far decent machine than 920 with D101. If you cannot at any cost afford at this moment of time then wait.....save and then go for it............ but invest in a fairly decent machine. You will not regrette.

I suggest you invest on x2 3600 and an onboard graphics . As you said. And i believe "when upgrading or buying a comp ; DONT WAIT or you will end up waiting FOREVER".well c2d may be far better . The thing is you have to dish out more. Well all dont have that money do they ?and remember x2 is not a worse performer its good where it stands. You have to dish out more to make c2d to use to its potential.
__________
On a second note .with that money your x2 will perform better than c2d on SAME MONEY . Go for whats best money can buy you. Not what you cant buy. I know sometimes even an extra 1k feels like a lot. The latest update of mine was way way way out of afford .i somehow managed. .
__________
Please forgive me. . I cant edit my post . . My 750 wont allow me i dont have comp with me now.
So . . I see people saying x2 is crap and c2d is decent . I dont think so you can do all your work and play on a p4 2.8 too . Dont know how many are using c2d to its full potential and forget about 5 to 10 percent increase in game frame rate you will not notice it. All machines from p4 and above will work brilliantly for all. Just up the ram .
