Question Tv tuner card / Graphics card for my config ...

Hi guys ,

I want a tv tuner card for my comp.

My config is as follows.

P4 - 1.5 Ghz.
512 mb Ram.
200 Gb Hard disk.
32 mb agp card - Nvidia.
HIS Motherboard ( supports only AGP ) - Almost 4 yrs old.

OS - Win XP and vista Beta 2 (It hardly runs on my PC !!! )

I was looking at all the options -

i.e

1. External Tv Tuner Card.
2. Internal TV tuner card.
3. Graphics card wih tv tuner.

which of the above has the best TV Clarity ?

Since , My video card is only 32 mb , I was serioulsy looking at buying a Graphics card , with Built in Tv tuner card....

Please suggest me the one , that would suit me the best ....

My budget is around 3 to 3.5K Max, as I am planning to upgrade to Core 2 Duo early next year.....

Thanks in Adavnce.

Get a TV tuner card for around 2k and save the rest for the future upgrade to C2D. Make this system crawl till then, there is no point in going with a crippled upgrade with it.

Don't waste money on a AGP graphics card that you will have to junk in a few months.

If you do not plan on getting a laptop as your next desktop replacement, stick to an internal PCI based TV tuner. They are cheaper and better. Look out for the Pinnacle PCTV 50i or Compro cards. They are good enough for TV viewing and casual recording.
